Transformation: Deborah Campbell Fights Back
Life can sometimes chips away at us all. Some will choose to play the victim, others will choose to be a survivor and then there are those like Deborah Campbell who choose to conquer! In 2013, Deborah retired from a career in business. Overweight and out-of-shape after 40 years of sitting at a desk, she decided it was time for a change. Her purpose was to a live a fit and healthy life so that she could once again enjoy the things she loved to do like hiking and traveling.
After 4 years of hard work and consistency, Deborah launched her own business called “Fitness & Fun.” and started training for her first ever bikini competition. Just as things were falling into place Deborah was dealt a devastating blow. In February 2017, Deborah lost her husband. This tragedy tore her world apart and left a gaping hole in her life. She knew she had to create some personal goals in order for her to keep moving forward in a positive direction. She used this difficult moment in her life to take her business and her fitness to the next level.
In September 2017, Deborah started working with Jay Horn a Competition Coach based in Las Vegas. She decided to work with Jay because he was known for being a “Natural” Bodybuilding coach who also specialized in Glute Transformations.
When Deborah started working with Jay she wasn’t sure if it was even possible for her body to change. Afterall, she thought, “l’m 59 years old”. What she discovered is that with commitment and hard work nothing is impossible. Age is just a number and not a determination of what you are capable of achieving. She was determined to compete in her first Bikini bodybuilding competition at the age of 60.
Deborah’s positive attitude and desire for change enabled her to get back up each time life would chip away at her. Today she is thankful for her fit lifestyle that keeps her motivated and instills so much desire for the future.
